And after the creation of the regions and governments, we have the schools. While I wrote that most institutions and systems in Aeopine had been mostly completed and implemented, the world lacked an academic institution. At first the angels — especially Cirme and Skaxa — believed that a formal institution was not necessary, as they would impart knowledge to the Monaca directly, but Mei and Maula insisted that the Monaca be instructed to teach themselves. Blah blah blah, they agreed to create Rika Academy, otherwise known as akademia Rika.
Based on the five angels, there are five branches of the academy.
Mei's branch, the Revolution (đa cemeial), focuses on subjects such as prediction, military training, and surveillance. The Revolution was the first branch to be established, and its notable programs include re:birth (cego:đru'ul), astronomy (đea'au), and surveillance training (đea ceisi).
Bitina's branch, the Archive (đa esincka), focuses on subjects such as preservation, recording, analysis, and history. Notable programs include History of Aeopine & the Universe I-X (đea Aeopine an Krone I-X), criminal studies (đea sieti), and archeology (đeasincka).
Maula's branch, the Hands (đa Kueilca), focuses on subjects such as combat, health sciences, observation of the Eye, and environmentalism.
Cirme's branch, the Light (đa auca), focuses on subjects such as psychology, illusion, literature, law, and language.
Skaxa's branch, the Form (đa bitina), focuses on subjects such as art, music, design, chemistry, and mathematics.
My personal faves' chapter is hereeeeee! The lore they have is crazy...
After most of the institutions for Aeopine have been created, the angels, save for Bitina, wished to create heirs so that they could pass on their power to them. In order to live on Aeopine without disrupting the delicate ecosystem, angels need to have bodies to possess. If angels walked around in their true forms, they'd easily overpower and destroy ecosystems. By eating fruit from the World Tree, a Mona would be produced with an assigned demon occuping the body.
Consuming the fruit is not required, but then the color the Mona would inherit would be completely random. With eating comes influence over the fruit. The color then would be determined.
When an angel's body would become unfit for them to live on Aeopine, they'd take their child's body and possess it, killing the souls of both the child and the demon. In the future, Mei and Duriel would discover how to preserve the body for longer use, and revolutionized healthcare not only for angels, but for Monaca as well.
On the 120th day, the angels congregated at the World Tree in preparation. Bitina and Cirme would not choose a fruit to eat, while the rest took their share.
When Mei held the fruit and leaned in to bite, Cirme eyed it with a look of annoyance. "Give it here. You have no use for a child."
"Pick yourself fruit. There are many that hang from the tree." Nevertheless, Mei relinquished it without resistance.
While Bitina and Mei stood back, the remaining three all bit their apples at the same time. Then, each of them traversed back to their lands to bury their apple seeds into the ground.
Meanwhile, Mei and Bitina remained at the tree, taking in the breeze and the branches swaying.
Bitina turned their head at Mei. "We are alike in this way, don't you think? No children for us."
"Perhaps," Mei replied. "But they walk their path, and so will we."
The following day, three new trees sprouted. From them came Remina, Ckara, and Galađ (the Future, the Past, and the Progression).
This next story is actually pretty hilarious to me. Like, how are these all-powerful beings who could literally destroy Aeopine just fighting over some stupid mountain range? That shit is literally insane to me. Anyways, here's wonderwall.
Aeopine has three distinctive types of regions. Mountains, an extensive underground cave system, and the mainland.
Each angel decided to claim territory for their own. While Mei took to the high mountains and Bitina dived underground, the three remaining angels had to divide the mainland into three equal countries.
Cirme and Maula saw these beautiful diamond-like mountains on the northern side of the mainland, and both wanted to reside in that region. While they fought, Skaxa claimed the deserts in the far south and made themself comfortable.
Cirme insisted that the angels hold an intellectual debate to decide who would inherit the mountains. However, Maula suggested a duel with hands. It was clear that these suggestions were biased and would favor only one of the sides, so Skaxa suggested that the two separate the mountain range in half.
None of them listened, and Maula was becoming increasingly impatient. Enraged, they tore open a small piece of the mainland. From their anger came a ravine of molten rock, which they surprisingly found more beautiful than the mountains. Finally, the strife had ended, and all the angels took to their new homes.
While this is a short story, I just want to add some more information about the governments and cultural stuff. It's all very interesting, and you need to know most of if not all of the aspects of Aeopine if you want to truly understand the later writings.
The overall central government of first-world Aeopine was the Cerapcalen, but you'd call it the "Council of Five" in English, or something. All five angels vote on laws and new implements to society, but these votings are ONLY for matters that concern the entirety of Aeopine. For regional matters, the angels can basically do whatever they want and create whatever sort of government they'd like.
As mentioned before, Mei had no desire to rule over anything. They actually only claimed the mountains so that they could appoint the land and subsequent power to the people that would reside there along with Mei. The overall government of the sky islands turned out to be a republic where each island would elect a representative to regulate stuff. In a way, the whole thing is basically just a mini Cerapcalen. The Republic is the ONLY government to have survived throughout the two world raptures.
The exact opposite goes for Bitina. They established a dictatorship strongly based on their complicated justice system, but had a council of citizens who would advise them. Bitina wasn't a terrible ruler, but there weren't any elections or power passing. Bitina was the only ruler in the history of Pine'enok. In addition, their only goal was to preserve the old world, and wouldn't allow entry for outsiders for a long time.
The three colors all became monarchies, with power only running through the family. These kingdoms obviously worked together often, but still ruled over the people with an iron fist.
The culture of Aeopine has always been heavily based on each angel's contribution/power to society. We can narrow the biggest cultural values on time, space, and bodily functions, which are the mind and heart. This might be confusing at first, but these three things influence the world greatly. Let's view some examples.
First, there is time. I think that one of the biggest examples of this would have to be the currency and economy in Aeopine. The people use a currency called "đia", which just means "money" in EA. What's interesting about it is that it has two forms, physical and time-based. This is really cool, because you can only purchase material items using the physical form of đia. If you're paying for a service, like any form of transportation, you'll have a "timecard" which has all of your time-based đia on it. From there, you can pay for services.
Space is kind of just a strange thing to really expound upon in Aeopine, but basically, there are three layers of "reality" in Aeopine. The first layer is the truest form of space called the "Inkronema" or "first layer". The second layer is the "Vatkronema" or "second layer". This layer is basically a "dream world" or extension of the 3rd layer, which is just the physical world, or "Kronema".
The mind of an Aeophinean has about 5000 terabytes worth of storage, and it retains information more efficiently than the average human brain. The unfourtunate thing is that it is very difficult to erase specific information from an Aeophinean's brain, and when the 5000 TB of space is full, they will cease to function. However, the ability to erase all data from one's brain is possible. At the end of an aeopine (10,000 kronalca), a person has the option to either retain all of their memories (and having their storage expanded) but be forced to leave Aeopine AND have their demon excorcised, or have their memory erased and be granted something called "next world residence", which allows them to stay in Aeopine until their storage is full again. Rinse and repeat.
To clarify, in the Aeopine universe, angels do exist, and it is because of them that the living entities inhabiting Aeopine have these origin stories of the universe. These stories (unless clearly stated) are factual. But you'll understand more as you read along. This specific text gives a lot of information about Aeopine.
For a while, angels floated in the Aeođir and were in need of homes. What they were looking for were planets, brimming with life, especially puppets.
Because the twin stars perished, the eye of Aeođir grieved, as its first angels were gone. From these tears came a wide array of celestial bodies.
These planets in the Aeođir are massive lifeforms that need blood and nutrients to survive, lest they become malnourished and fail to keep the inhabitants on the planet alive. Trillions of worlds have blossomed from the eye of Aeođir, ready for the angels to claim.
There was one unusual planet, Aeopine. It was overwhelmingly bountiful, with creatures already sheltered on it. Many angels were drawn to these entities and clamored to become the ruler of Aeopine.
The first to arrive was Mei, who was a whiteblood. They had a powerful gift, which was prophecy. This angel, unlike the rest that would soon come, arrived at Aeopine not to rule over it, but to help the creatures. This angel is also known as the Oracle, and would claim the scythe as their weapon.
The second to arrive was Bitina, a blackblood. They also had a gift. They had a mind so vast it could hold all events of the past without difficulty. This angel is known as the Archivist, who would claim the sword as their weapon.
The third angel was Maula, who was redblooded. They could shake the world with a single finger. This angel is also known as the Heart, and needed no weapon.
The fourth angel to arrive was Cirme, blueblooded. They had the gift of illusion, and was extremely intelligent. This angel is also known as the Brain, and was a spell caster.
The last angel was Skaxa, yellowblooded. They could manipulate the elements and space as a whole. This angel is also known as the Carver, and would claim the bow as their weapon.
It was important that the angels claim their weapon of choice, because more angels from the Aeođir would soon find Aeopine.
Angels washed up on the shores of Aeopine, eager to challenge the first five who claimed the world. They had no weapons, and instead turned to their claws and war calls, loud enough to explode rocks.
While the other four angels engaged in bloody battle, turning the seas red, Mei would protect the land from harm, shelter creatures from the crossfire, and wait. They didn't wish to fight their own kind, and saw it all as a childish quarrel.
Eventually, angels ceased diving into the oceans and swimming to land for a time. They would return, but for now, they were tired. The waters were stained red permanently, and Mei had no choice but to bury every single dead angel in the rich soil, feeding Aeopine. From the bodies, a huge tree sprang up from the center of the mainland, already bearing fruit.
On the 50th day, all of the fruit on the tree fell at once, and when the fruits hit the ground, new creatures were born, protected by the flesh surrounding their bones. The five angels called them Monaca, and noticed that the fallen angels that had been buried were hidden deep inside the Monaca. No longer having a body of their own, they were now demons, or parasites. The demon could give a Mona great power.
In the world of Aeopine, the person who wrote this wacky story was Nanari Đans, who is Karla and Karmen's ancestor from the 1st World! Funnily enough, the entire myth is actually false, and the real story is very sad :(
I'll save the details, but basically, Conul's body was deemed unfit for living in. Kru'ul couldn't live without their sibling, so they initiated a possession on themself. Now Conul wanders Aeopine in their sibling's body. So, this "Eaten Eagle" story is quite honestly a disservice to the twins' actual relationship. However, the sheer insanity of this tale and how it's written is what skyrocketed it to household popularity. What I think is really cool about this story is that it kinda portrays the way that fire consumes everything, but only being quelled by water.
In the eye of the stormy Aeođir, two angels spawned from its tears. The two recognized each other as siblings, twin stars. They had no names, so they named each other.
The blue haired one turned to the other and spoke. "Your name shall be Kru'ul, for your hair is dull flame."
Similarly, Kru'ul gave the name "Conul" to the other angel.
A name is a spell, a thing that identifies an entity, and once the two were named, more angels spawned, and all were named by the twins. Soon, Conul transformed into an eagle, ascended up, and slept. Kru'ul was not tired, so they continued to spawn in more angels.
Soon, angels completely enveloped the Aeođir, and Kru'ul ceased their angelmaking. The angels rejoiced, for they existed and were no longer mere dreams and concepts! Kru'ul observed their playful banter and spoke.
"We will celebrate your births and reward me and my sibling's hard work. We shall have a wonderful feast with delicaces lined up so that they all encompass the Aeođir!"
Kru'ul wanted to have a meal separate from the others, so they told an angel to hunt a bird from the clouds. The angel promptly transformed into a sparrow and flew up. Soon, they caught a glimpse of Conul’s form, eyeing them as prey. An arrow was nocked, and they were shot dead.
“Strange, this eagle is very large.” The angel remarked.
A fire was prepared, and the angels gathered around the warmth, rotating the eagle’s body, making sure it was well cooked. The smell was molten iron, not of any meat imaginable. The angels paid no mind; they've never tasted flesh.
Soon, Kru'ul arrived with an entourage.
As Kru'ul reached their claws into the fire and grasped the first piece, they automatically knew something was wrong, but not wanting to insult the angels, they continued to tear at the flesh. The taste was an almost unbearable metallic flavor, and even as the flames engulfed the meat, the meat was cold.
Sensing Kru'ul's discomfort, the angels gathered near them, eyeing the scene carefully. Even as Kru'ul forced the meat down, they'd occasionally offer a reassuring smile, as to not hurt anyone's feelings.
At last, they managed to consume the entire thing, and as they were crunching on the bones, knowledge slowly dawned on them. Tears streamed down their face as the angel let out a guttural scream, terrifying the crowd.
“I have consumed my sibling! Conul!”
Kru'ul lurched forward. The nearby angels cried out and rushed forward, but Kru'ul swiped their claw, signaling them to not come near. Kru'ul's eyes, previously a bright red, have become blue.
Kru'ul, or perhaps somebody else, stood up and faced the crowd. They had sprouted wings and dived down to the depths of Aeođir, deserting the angels who wept for the loss of both the twins.
